Mai Manó House is not barrier-free.
We would like to inform you that audio and video recordings may be made during our events, which the Mai Manó Ház may use for promotional purposes related to the institution's programs.
Dear Visitors!
To help us preserve our collection, we kindly ask you to cooperate by following the rules below while visiting our exhibitions.
THE MAI MANÓ HOUSE CURRENTLY DOES NOT PROVIDE A CLOAKROOM; coats may be hung on hanger racks in the foyer of the first-floor exhibition space, and umbrellas can be stored next to the entrance.
FOR THE SAFETY OF THE ARTWORKS, please wear backpacks only on your front or carry them in your hands while in the exhibition space. Do not approach within a 30 cm distance or touch the exhibited objects or the architectural elements of the historic building!
It is prohibited to bring food, drinks, handheld children’s toys, or any other objects into the exhibition spaces that could endanger the displayed works or the architectural features, interior spaces, and furnishings of the historic building. Water may be consumed in the lobby of the first-floor exhibition space.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO BRING INTO THE BUILDING any vehicles, including bicycles and scooters, as well as sharp or cutting tools, or anything that endangers the safety of the exhibited works, visitors, and staff.
SMOKING IS PROHIBITED throughout the entire museum; the use of e-cigarettes is also not permitted. Smoking is only allowed outside the gate in front of the main entrance, at least 5 meters away from the entrance.
THE RESTROOMS may only be used by visitors with an admission ticket.
The Mai Manó House is a DOG-FRIENDLY exhibition space; the rules for visiting with dogs can be found here.
PERSONS under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or stimulants, as well as those arriving in inappropriate attire (e.g., barefoot or in swimwear), ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE EXHIBITIONS. We reserve the right to request police intervention against anyone whose behavior violates or endangers the safety of our visitors and staff, or who acts in a threatening manner, including the revocation of their right to remain in the museum.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO: Photography is permitted with a valid admission ticket, without the use of flash, tripods, or selfie sticks. Recordings may be used exclusively for personal purposes and may not be distributed commercially. In certain temporary exhibitions, we may restrict photography, which will be indicated within the exhibition or at the entrance.
TICKET OFFICE CLOSING AND LAST ENTRY: 6:30 PM; please leave the exhibition space by 7:00 PM at the latest.
Only the museum’s trained docents may conduct GUIDED TOURS of our exhibitions, subject to prior arrangement and for a fee. Video and audio recording is not permitted during guided tours.
MOBILE PHONES: Please do not disturb other visitors by speaking loudly in the exhibition halls; please set your mobile phone to silent and do not use it for conversations.
VISITING WITH CHILDREN: The museum welcomes young visitors, but for reasons of personal safety and the protection of the artworks, it is important to observe the following rules. Children under the age of two may only be brought into the exhibition space in a stroller or in a front-facing baby carrier.
For safety reasons, carrying children of any age on the back or in a sling is not permitted. Strollers may be parked in the foyer of the first-floor exhibition space at your own risk. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide a designated area for feeding infants or for diaper changes.
Persons under the age of 14 may only remain in the museum under adult supervision.
The parent or adult guardian is responsible for ensuring that the child protects the integrity of the exhibits, uses the exhibition space and its furnishings for their intended purpose, and for the child’s physical safety and civilized behavior appropriate for a museum.
GROUP AND FAMILY VISITS: The group leader, accompanying teacher, or parent (as well as any external tour guide with special permission) is responsible for ensuring that every member of their group complies with the visitor regulations.
If you do not agree with the visitor regulations, you may exchange your admission ticket for a refund at the ticket office on the same day, within 30 minutes of purchase, by presenting the receipt you received at the time of purchase, until the ticket office closes.
If you refuse to cooperate or fail to follow the rules, our staff may deny you access to the museum.
